At the moment, I’m immersed in “The Orthodox Way,” which serves as a foundational introduction to Eastern Orthodox theology, and “The Care of Souls,” a profoundly insightful guide on shepherding, penned by a devoted Lutheran pastor.

”Grateful” is the perfect word today. I’m so thankful to everyone who reached out with birthday wishes and encouraging messages. I’m beyond grateful for my family, who are so easy to love and serve, and who make life so fun.

(Pictured) My 4-year-old daughter was so excited to make me a birthday breakfast. She grabbed a stool, rummaged through the fridge, and prepared a wonderful meal of cold leftover pizza and two strawberries.

I’m also deeply grateful for my precious flock, who love and honor me so well. Pastoring them is a joy. I was given a slice of cheesecake with a birthday candle, and with tears in my eyes, I realized I had no need to make a wish—I already have everything I’ve ever dreamed of.

And most of all, I’m grateful to the Lord Jesus for His abundant grace in my life.

It's a lifelong journey of learning to love like Him, serve like Him, and bring heaven to earth like Him.   

Each day, we're invited to ask, "What would Jesus do?" and then bravely follow His lead.   

This apprenticeship isn't about perfection, but transformation. It's not about religious rules, but a relationship that reshapes everything.  
Are you ready to move beyond belief to embodiment? To not just admire Jesus, but to truly follow Him?

The Master Craftsman is calling. Let's build His kingdom together, one act of love at a time.

Hear this truth that shakes the foundations of your very being: In Christ, you are REBORN!

The old you? Crucified. Buried. Gone.

Rise up and see yourself through heaven’s eyes! You are no longer a slave to sin, but royalty in God’s kingdom. The King of Kings has adopted you, clothed you in righteousness, and seated you with Him in the heavenly realms!

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

This isn’t mere poetry – it’s your new reality. The Judge of all the earth now calls you His cherished child. The throne of judgment has become a throne of grace, inviting you to approach with boldness!

Today, let your actions flow from this truth: you are God’s masterpiece, created anew in Christ Jesus. Walk tall and yet stay low (humble), love deeply, and live boldly as a citizen of heaven, secure in your Father’s embrace. Throw off the grave clothes of your past. Embrace the royal robes of your identity in Christ.

Dear Christian,

Paul’s letter to the Ephesians reminds us that our calling in Christ is not just a personal journey, but a communal one. We are urged to “walk worthy of the calling you have received” (Ephesians 4:1, CSB), living out our faith not in isolation but as part of the body of Christ. This walk is marked by humility, gentleness, patience, and love—virtues that thrive in the context of community.

In Christian community, we grow together, encourage one another, and hold each other accountable. As Paul explains, just as a body cannot function properly if its parts are disconnected, so too, a Christian cannot fully live out their faith apart from the community of believers (Ephesians 4:16, CSB). We need one another to be reminded of God’s love, to be spurred on in holiness, and to grow into the fullness of Christ.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer said it well: “The physical presence of other Christians is a source of incomparable joy and strength to the believer. A Christian community is a gift of God’s grace.” Let us embrace our calling to walk worthy, not alone, but together, as one body in Christ, building each other up in love as we grow into maturity in Him.

The Lord in His faithfulness guided me to a profound milestone for my family—a culmination of nearly a decade of apprenticeship under the Lord Jesus, study, service, mentorship, and the arduous journey toward greater maturity and humility. I was blessed to receive my ordination for pastoral ministry and the commissioning of my new church, Harbinger Gospel Church in Nashville, TN.

I am overwhelmingly compelled to celebrate the beautiful partnership with Pastors Jeremy Rose, Derek Hazelet, and the dedicated team at The Axis Church. In a culture where churches seldom commission new congregations within the same city on good terms, our unity is a testament to God’s grace. Together, The Axis Church and Harbinger Gospel Church stand united, shoulder to shoulder, eager to serve our city and share the boundless love of Christ with our neighbors.

Harbinger Gospel Church was birthed out of over a year of dreaming, musing and collaborating with treasured family and built from the ground up. In a world that often clashes with God's kingdom, this verse gives us a powerful guide for living as followers of Christ:

---Honor EVERYONE, regardless of status or background, reflecting Jesus' radical inclusivity.
---Love the BROTHERS AND SISTERS, actively seeking their good as a witness to the world.
---Fear GOD alone, cultivating holy awe that frees us from fear of man.
---Honor the EMPEROR, respectfully submitting to authorities as godly citizens.

These are not disconnected virtues, but flow from the gospel. Because Christ loved us sacrificially while we were still sinners, we can extend that love and honor to all.

As 1 Peter 2:12 says, "Conduct yourselves honorably among the Gentiles, so that when they slander you as evildoers, they will observe your good works and will glorify God on the day he visits."

Let's pray for grace to live such honorable lives that through us, the world might see our glorious Savior.

Fellow followers of Jesus, as we approach another election, I want to share a book that has profoundly impacted my faith and politics. 📖🙏 “Exiles” by Preston Sprinkle (@preston.sprinkle ) is a must-read for every Christian seeking to navigate the complexities of our current political landscape.

In times past, the Jewish priests offered sacrifices that pleased God. Today, through Jesus, the Christian family has become part of a spiritual priesthood. Our efforts to live holy lives, though imperfect, are embraced by God’s loving grace.

Celebrate the beauty of this truth: even our simplest attempts to follow Jesus are a sweet fragrance to our Heavenly Father. It’s not about perfection; it’s about our heartfelt pursuit, made possible by the boundless grace we find in Christ.

On this special day, I celebrate the radiant light that illuminates my life—my beloved wife, the very essence of my existence. Far more than a precious jewel adorning my crown, she is the crown itself, resplendent in her beauty, both inside and out. My heart overflows with gratitude for her presence, and I find myself perpetually inspired by her unwavering spirit.

In moments of uncertainty, when I ponder what path Jesus would take, I need only turn to her to find the answer. Her actions embody the very essence of His teachings, as she navigates life with an unparalleled level of selflessness and compassion. A true friend to all, her loyalty and dedication know no bounds.

As the mother of our 3 children, she excels beyond measure, nurturing them with a thoughtful balance of love, guidance, and wisdom. And as my wife, she is simply unrivaled—the epitome of a partner, confidante, and soulmate.
